Casual Grindz: Pho My Lan
With all the rain we’ve been having lately I had a craving for a nice hot steaming bowl of comfort food. Whenever I’m away on the mainland for business trips and meetings, I always make it a point to drag my colleagues out to the nearest pho place I can find. The warm, delicious broth of pho always speaks of home.
Luckily for pho lovers like me Hawaii is in no way lacking in places to find this popular dish. Pho My Lan has special significance to me when it comes to pho, as it is the place where I had my first bowl of this delicious food.
I have read reviews online that state that Pho My Lan does not give as much meat in their pho orders as other places. In my visit this past weekend I did not see any noticeable difference in the amount of meat, so I’m not sure how well founded these claims are. But what I do know is that Pho My Lan has some of the best pho broth I have encountered on the island. Their spring rolls are also pretty good!
If you like pho, you’ll like Pho My Lan. Plain and simple!
