When did you start LocoKineGrindz.com?

Locokinegrindz.com was started in July 2007 by founder Dale Yasunaga.

Why did you start this site?

This site was started as a way to share our dining experiences with the people of Hawaii and visitors from around the world.

What qualifies your writers to be food critics?

Honestly, we have no resume that would “qualify” us to be a food critics. It is our belief that identifying great places to eat is something that anyone can do.

Our staff has sampled cuisine from all across the United States, and in countries overseas including Japan, England, France, and Scotland.

How does your “star rating” system work?

1 star = Poor
2 star = Below average
3 star = Average
4 star = Above Average
5 star = Excellent

Why are your reviews so long?

It is our belief that a good restaurant does not only have good food, but must have equally high levels of service and atmosphere. This means that our reviews comment on a variety of different aspects of the restaurant.
